Being a healing presence in the community.

I was just a new comer in that quarter , and didn't know what really happen as I usually do : I pray to recognise that God was in control of everything , therefore this quarter and those who live there were filled with divine love this prayer leads me to a family I was asked to give repetition to one of the girls in English she has been presenting her exam without success because of this matter it was clear that she needed great help so I agreed to help them .

I have been doing this in the past with success for when i did it I pray both for me and my student to let Spirit ( another name of God) doing everything . After few months of studying she became understanding her english lesson and having good mark ! everyone was surprise of the improvement of the situation .

But before as I was prayed it came to my mind that I had to bring that girl to our CSO meetings she aggreed and appreciated what she discovered after this I gave her a copy of Science and health and french heralds so she started reading it then when her level and note in english and other matters improved I knew it was the result of her contact with christian science.

Another healing came one night when she finally discovered that she was a victim of witchcraft .here in Africa this belief is very rooted in our culture .she said to me that she had seen her body laying on the bed while someone else was stiring her neck and try to kill her as she refused to go out. she said to that person to leave her for she belong only to Christ she prayed using ideas she rode in the book and finally that invisible person leave her and she waked up !
when she told it to me she asked me to pray for it I told her that she was healed that night because of what she discovered ( she was moved every night by a witch who used her to unveil his appareance so it was why it was difficult for her to wake up ) that our spiritual work has moved the veil of this error but we keeped on praying for one week and that person didn,t come until now.

When her mother discovered the power of Christian science she finally told me that all her 3 children have been blocked by witchcraft that they would not have any diploma it why the elders didn,t get it so they abandoned school .my student was the only child who goes to school .I told them that everything was on God control
As I have been a victim of this mental malpratice in the past so I started praying with ideas which have healad my case
That there is only one Spirit so men were not spirits but spirituals
nothing can limit or block or intelligence for it is God who is the source of it
we cannot be used for evil purpose for it 's God who thinks in us
after praying like this I told them that she will pass her exam for our encounter was not a matter of change but God will so He sent me in that quarter to help particulary that family
After the exam I saw in dream that she passed and when the result came she got her exam ! the whole family was in joy and they sang Christian hymns to thank God .

Thanks for talking about this! After reading Stephané Luyaluka's interview in the February CS Journal I got a very clear understanding of this topic. His interview really helped illustrate for me how witchcraft seems to work and how it is powerless. It was somethign I knew intuitively but never fully understood.

So I think it's powerful and wonderful you are confronting this problem, and realizing its nothingness, with Christian Science in your community. I am sure it is having a helpful and powerful healing effect in many wonderful ways even if they are unseen!!!! =) This healing work is powerful.

In our culture, here in the US, witchcraft/mental malpractice/aggressive mental suggestion, seems more subtle since matter is already entertained as being real. I feel most people don't realize that there is even a choice to think otherwise. I get the sense that Africa and it's peoples have been taught to that spirituality is the real and matter is secondary. Do you think so?

Around the time I learned about this topic of witchcraft and how people came to one another in dreams in Africa to do harm or otherwise, I realized that many people had visited me in dreams and I had visited others. I found I had to treat this immediately. I have since noticed that when I pray before falling asleep I almost never have dreams or they are very abstract and without people. I see this a total proof of Christian Science and how it is a constant source of protection.

Before this time I would have dreams that were oft times creepy or sometimes sexual in nature. It was really awful and when I woke up I felt like I had jus escaped an attack. I began to realize this was all nonsense and I could put an end to it through prayer before going to sleep. Since then these awful dreams have ceased. I had had a healing of this when I was younger, but this felt like something new I was learning.

Now I really feel like understand why Mrs Eddy wrote this important statement at the end of the chapter on Christian Science Practice:

Christian Scientists, be a law to yourselves that mental malpractice cannot harm you either when asleep or when awake.

Thank you TAD ,I have just read your topic , a very good one ! it show that Christian science is effective
I didn't even know that the belief of witchcraft was also present there in US , but as you said that people always entertain the belief that matter is real ( because this mental malpractice is the result of it ) so I understood .

Mr Stephane 's intervieuw was like a bomb explosion ! it has disclosed this social most subtle enemy which is witchcraft ,for most of us here in Africa didn,t know how to handle it correctly ,we often dealed with it in the wrong manner going to the basic that it was a material power , as something that we born with .we didn,t know that is was a wrong usage of power or knowledge.. but Mr Stephane brought our vieuw from a material aspect to the mental . Now we know that it a mental negative force that we can deal effectively with Christian science which operates only on the mental .

As he said African have been taught that spirituality was real . We have in Our village old mens whose this knowledge has been transmitted oraly from parent to son but now young people are affraid to approach those persons because they think that they are witch doctors whereas most of them aren,t ,We had a bad vieuw of those learned persons .

so it why young africans literally get loose of their roots . but Christian Science has revealed that witchcraft is powerless this permit us now to be connected to the roots of our culture .

African particulary really need CS as wichcraft is so prevailing here and the only antidote of is Christian science ; we are in need of people like Mr Stephane who have the courage to unveil this practice so that we really know what it is in order to deal with it effectively and who show us the way .
we have more to share about it and it will be useful for all of us to be aware of the differents aspects of it so that we better deal with it specifically .
