J2EE/XML Developer

      The business center of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston has immediate openings for J2EE/XML/MySQL experts that can develop and deploy websites and business applications. You must be able to build web applications from the ground up, as well as modify and build on existing code. We want “open source evangelists” that can conceptualize and develop everything from website frameworks to XML-based workflows for publishing editorial systems. JBoss, Redhat, Alfresco, Liferay, Apache, and MySQL are the buzz words for this job!

      We will give special consideration to those candidates that also have a working knowledge of PHP, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, and DHTML.

      JOB REQUIREMENTS (and preferences where indicated):

      • Education/Experience: BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years experience in software/web development using technologies that include J2EE, XML, MySQL,.
      • Candidates must have experience in full software development life cycle requirements gathering through deployment
      • “Nice to Have” Skills: PHP, CSS, MySQL, DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, open source frameworks such as Qcodo, Zend, or Cake; Flash and ActionScript.

      General: Carrying and responding promptly to a cell phone is required. Able to work well as a member of a team. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical/problem solving skills with excellent communication skills.
