At the heart of Sunday School there are three primary resources defined in the Church Manual by Mary Baker Eddy: the Bible, the weekly Bible Lesson and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy. But what is the best way to instruct students “according to their understanding or ability to grasp the simpler meanings of the divine Principle they are taught?” Many of today’s students find it helpful and inspiring to learn via a wide variety of media including video, graphics, audio, games, and interactive web media. Using these wisely in a lesson plan can make for a rich, engaging experience for everyone. So how can this media be used to introduce the ideas of “absolute Christian Science” and successfully lead students back to the Scriptures and “their textbook,” Science and Health? How can Sunday School teachers around the world share with each other when they create things that work really well in their classes?
Listeners to this chat are invited to send in questions live via computer. Susie Rynerson Jostyn and Chet Manchester of TMC Youth will provide answers based on their collective experience as students and teachers and will present a few new resources available on the Internet, on tmcyouth.com, and used in branch churches around the world.
The chat will be hosted live in English on www.tmcyouth.com. Everyone is also invited to stop by the Reading Room at 194 Massachusetts Ave. in Boston, MA to listen in with the public and a group of local Sunday School teachers.
If you can’t join the chat, you can post questions beforehand in the Sunday School Discussion Forum on the website and listen to the recorded chat afterwards.

Please join us for our continuing series of live chats with Sunday School teachers and superintendents around the world. This month, we’ll explore a topic near and dear to the heart of anyone who loves Sunday School: Growing Sunday School.
The Christian Science Board of Directors has been giving a lot of thought and prayer to growth in our Church. How does this prayer include and embrace the growth of our Sunday Schools? What are some of the impositions on thought that would keep young people and families from the benefits of the Christian Science Sunday School? How can The Mother Church and its branches work and pray together about growth in accordance with the Church Manual?
Listeners to this chat are invited to send in questions live via computer.
Sunday School as defined by the Church Manual is vital, interesting, fun and appealing. Listen to four Sunday School teachers share some of the ideas they’ve cherished about Sunday School recently, and how that naturally resulted in the growth of their classes and entire Sunday Schools.

Ever wondered what quotes from the Bible or Science and Health resonate with Sunday School students?

Some students have attended a Christian Science Sunday School since they were born, while others may be attending one for the first time. This experience gap can be hard to manage both as a teacher and a student. But, one Sunday School teacher in Paris, France discovered how natural it was to conduct class no matter the background of her students or the size of her class.

You may know the story of Samuel who heard the voice of God calling him. Wouldn’t that be cool if you could just pick up a telephone and talk to God? Well, maybe that isn’t too far-fetched. The prophet Jeremiah certainly heard the voice of God and was prompted to write down what He said. In this final podcast about Jeremiah, Elaine Follis talks about how God is always speaking, and maybe you’ll find new insights on how to listen.

What do you think of when you think of the word prophet? Is it some old man with a beard who only lived during Bible times? Well, you may be surprised to find out that one of those Biblical characters, Jeremiah, was only a teenager when he first began his worthy work. Is it possible for you today to be a prophet?
Take a listen to this third episode about Jeremiah to find out what makes a modern-day prophet, and maybe you’ll discover that you already are one!
