Probation after Death

The topic seems like a downer, right? I mean, first you die and then you're on probation! Well, it's a basic theme in a lot of Christian theologies. But is probation a punishment or did Jesus teach something different? He does and what he teaches makes this Bible Lesson topic a lot more appealing.
